Square of Calm Water
Willamette River, Portland Oregon
There used to be a little covered pavilion here about 10 feet over the river level in this picture. Last year something drifted down the river, slammed into it smashing one of the pilings and tipping it over. About six months later a large barge with a large crane came up river tied off next to the pavilion lifted it onto the barge and went back down river. Most of the year the cross bars were out of the water. Last week the level came up over the beams dropped down and created this quiet square. A year or two ago the water level was up another 10 feet almost to the river walk level. Things change.

The Corner of the TV Room
SE 38th, Portland Oregon
This is the upper corner of the room that Jan and Jesse are sitting in on the same evening. It is also the same room that had the little table with the lamp on it from a month or so ago. Before we moved this was our bedroom in the duplex and it is the room where Cliff was born. Cliff of Bryn and Cliff and the New York Times Crossword. Quite a room.

A Trip to Ikea
Ikea, Portland Oregon
Oh my god! I'd never been to Ikea before. The parking lot was full. We parked out back at the freight docks which explains the pictures of the back of the store. If you've never been to one it is like 8 large box stores four for the first floor and four for the second full of furniture and such for your 235 square foot apartment. Once you are in you can't leave until you've wandered the entire two floor labyrinth and challenged the Minotaur of materialism.

My Workspace
SE Caruthers, Portland Oregon
Dave Beckerman has been posting pictures of his workspace as he squeezes a big Epson 7800 printer into his one bedroom apartment in NYC. He requested views of other work spaces. It seemed like an interesting idea so without any cleaning or rearranging here's my work area. You can read, view, Dave's blog or visit his website and buy a photo. Nice black and whites from New York City. Click on this to make it bigger and read the labels.
