Yeah, the story should be: I scrambled down a 10 foot basalt cliff and eased myself into the frigid roaring waters of the Rogue. I'm now in a 10 foot wide 10 foot deep crack in the ground up to my chest in 36 degree water. I'm inching closer to the opposite side to get the framing just right with my 35mm fixed focal length lens. I recheck the exposure and snap this singularly facinating image. I slid my feet slowly across the slippery basalt with my arms and camera over my head back to the cliff face. With wet clothes and soaked shoes I scale the cliff and head off to my next incredible image. Sad truth: I saw exactly what I wanted from the other side of the crack. I sat down in a nice rounded hole in the basalt and took a series of exposures which I (gasp) cropped to match what I saw. "The picture is a separate thing."
