Three from the Portland Japanese Garden

Portland Japanese Garden, Portland Oregon

A little over two months ago the Portland Japanese Garden asked it's photography members to submit pictures of the garden to be selected for display at Pro Photo, a photography store on NW 19th and Marshall in Portland. These three were chosen by the folks at Pro Photo for large format printing. They are now hanging with 10 (more like 10 photographers and 19 prints see comments) prints by other photographers high up on the walls of the shop. At that distance they don't seem grossly huge. They look to be about 3' by 5'. They held up pretty well. Although I think if you took them down you could use them for a quilt on your bed or as wall paper for one large section of wall. They'll be up until around the end of May. If you're in the area stop by and take a look. More pictures from the beach tomorrow more rocks more sand more sky more water.

Do you realize your work is almost 25% of the entire show? Very impressive.

Oops. I went back and checked the numbers. There were supposed to be 13 photographers selected if I'm represented by three that means that there were more than thirteen prints . So lets say 19 prints, which comes out at about 15.8%. I really should have counted them while I was there.

Jonathan,
How would you "push" these images?
I mean, OK they are gorgeous, but if you were going to tweak them to the edge, is there anything there?

Jan says the the first "spot-lighted maple" is a stunner. It doesn't look like what it is.
